Hey Diddle Diddle Moon

cow.jpg

Every year in May, when the Moon comes New, the cow makes its famous leap, and in the world of The Star Tales of Mother Goose, that makes it the Hey Diddle Diddle Moon! Just after New Phase on May 11, 2021, the thin crescent will be seen sweeping up the western sky near Venus, goddess of love and beauty, to whom ancient astrologers granted dominion of Taurus.

Several years ago, Mary Stewart Adams composed her verse for the Hey Diddle Moon, which Carolyn Barlow set to music. You can hear the tune at this link to The Storyteller’s Night Sky radio archive, to inspire your own song to the stars in the merry ole month of May,
